Summer is finally here and it is time to turn our thoughts to our annual family reunion, Saturday the 23rd of July, 2011. We will meet at the Brigham Young Farmhouse, This is the Place Heritage State Park. Admission is free! Train rides and an hour to visit and socialize begin at 4:00 pm. Bring your own picnic dinner and sit on your blanket while we enjoy our special program guest, artist Julie Rogers, show her beautiful portraits of Brigham Young and the Pioneers. The annual Young Family Temple Night will be held on Thursday the 28th of July, 2011. We will be meeting at 5:00 pm in the Chapel of the Salt Lake Temple for a special family fireside prior to attending the 6:00 pm Session. This event is cosponsored by the John Young Sr. & Brigham Young Family Associations.

 Come join us at Brother Brigham’s Ball Saturday the 23rd of July, 2011. Open to all, Brother Brigham's' Ball is the perfect activity to finish a month of family events. There will be live period music, traditional dress, vocalists, dance instruction and more. An event for the whole family, the ball begins at 6:00 pm at The Garden Place, This is the Place Heritage State Park.

 In an attempt to continue the healing between the two families; Mary Ellen Elggren, the Immediate Past President of the Brigham Young Family Association, and Michael Kennedy, the current President of the Joseph Smith and Emma Hale Smith Historical Society continue to inspire family and friends alike with their experience healing the rift between the Brigham Young and the Joseph Smith Families.

On June 9, 2007, the Joseph Smith Jr. Family Reunion invited representatives of the Young family to attend and present a statement regarding the relationship between Brigham Young and Emma Smith. Our statement began, "We revere [her] as a truly great and saintly lady..."
